A new benchmark: The most powerful CUPRA Leon Hatch ever built returns to New Zealand

CUPRA is redefining the limits of performance in New Zealand with the return of the new CUPRA Leon VZ Hatch, the most powerful front-wheel-drive Leon Hatch ever created, engineered for those who demand intensity, precision and pure driving emotion. It brings motorsport-inspired performance to Kiwi roads, delivering an uncompromising blend of power, control and design-led sophistication.

At its core, the CUPRA Leon VZ Hatch is driven by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 239kW and 420Nm, making it the most potent Leon Hatch to date. Paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and an electronic VAQ front differential lock, it channels power with relentless precision to deliver 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.4 seconds and a delimited top speed of 270 kilometres per hour. This is performance without compromise, engineered to push the boundaries of what a front-wheel-drive hatch can achieve.

Together, they signal a clear direction for the brand, one focused on delivering distinctive, performance-led vehicles with a strong emphasis on individuality. The CUPRA Leon VZ Hatch is set to arrive in New Zealand from the end of September 2026.
